B&B Progetti at inHUB 2025: Engineering and Innovation

On November 28-29, 2025, B&B Progetti co-organized inHUB 2025 at the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e Tecnologia “Leonardo da Vinci” in Milan alongside HUB Engineering and Erre.vi.a. The public session on November 29 featured Eng. Giampiero Brioni addressing cost management in complex projects and Eng. Marco Baccaro exploring artificial intelligence implications in engineering design.

InHUB-19

On November 28-29, 2025, the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e Tecnologia “Leonardo da Vinci” in Milan hosted the third edition of inHUB, the annual convention organized by HUB Engineering with B&B Progetti and Erre.vi.a as hosting consortium members. The event, sponsored by RICS, OICE, UCSI and AICE, brought together industry professionals to explore the most pressing and current themes in Italian and international engineering.

The public session on November 29, moderated by Prof. Aldo Norsa, was structured around three roundtables dedicated to project management, cost management, and artificial intelligence in design.

Cost management: from forecasting to economic control

During the roundtable “The Value of Control: Cost Management in Complex Projects,” Eng. Giampiero Brioni analyzed techniques and tools for early-stage economic project management. The intervention highlighted the necessity of integrating quantity surveying competencies in preliminary design phases, emphasizing how economic control represents not a constraint but an optimization opportunity for the entire supply chain.

The roundtable featured Dr. Emanuele Banchi (AICE), Eng. Massimiliano Pulice (RICS – CDP), and Prof. Stefano Capolongo (Politecnico di Milano / JRP Costruzioni), establishing a multidisciplinary dialogue on cost control methodologies for highly complex projects.

Artificial intelligence: professional competencies beyond automation

Eng. Marco Baccaro contributed to the roundtable “Designing with AI: Innovation, Automation, Creativity,” focusing on the implications of artificial intelligence for the designer’s role. The analysis emphasized the transformation of required professional competencies, highlighting how AI tool adoption entails a redefinition of technical responsibilities rather than mere automation of established processes.

The debate included Dr. Marco De Angelis (Gematica), Eng. Federica Zanetti (CMB), Eng. Graziella Campagna (TeamSystem), Dr. Francesco Merlotti (Lenovo), and Dr. Pierluigi Aluisio (Venicecom), configuring a dialogue between technical, academic, and industrial perspectives.

A convention between technical expertise and strategic vision

The November 28 session, reserved for HUB Engineering consortium members, addressed themes related to branding, digital communication, and internationalization, establishing a strategic reflection moment for the consortium. The evening concluded with a gala dinner that represented an informal sharing moment among participating professionals, offering the opportunity to consolidate professional relationships in a less formal context than the working sessions.

The choice of the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e Tecnologia as location underscored the connection between historical and contemporary innovation, offering a space symbolically coherent with the discussed themes. The third edition of inHUB confirms the convention as a reference appointment for the construction engineering sector, valorizing the dialogue between specialized competencies and integrated supply chain vision.
