BUILDING 4, LEONARDO CAMPUS
Structural Design
Structural design at B&B Progetti SB covers the full design cycle, from feasibility study and preliminary design through to technical design, construction design and site supervision. Structural solutions are developed from the early stages in coordination with architecture, MEP and cost management, so that the sizing of load-bearing elements accounts not only for technical performance but also for its impact on construction time and costs.
Design addresses reinforced concrete, steel, timber and masonry structures, with linear and non-linear FEM analyses for all building uses. All work is carried out in a BIM environment, with models that support interdisciplinary coordination and clash detection, reducing inconsistencies before they reach site. The service also includes static testing, geotechnical engineering and fire resistance certifications.
The approach is the same for new construction and for works on existing buildings: upgrading, refurbishment, seismic improvement. Each project requires a specific analysis of starting conditions, whether defining the structural system from scratch or intervening on a building with constraints, legacy layers and conditions requiring verification. Coordination with architectural, MEP, cost management and site supervision services, all coordinated by B&B Progetti SB, keeps these variables under control without fragmenting responsibility across parties.
